The science of "detailing the Book" is defined as follows: It is the practice of interpreting the Quran through the Quran itself—yet subject to a strict condition: one must not introduce any addition or omission from one’s own invention or personal conjecture—not a single word, not a single letter, not even a grammatical inflection! Rather, one must establish its balance with equity, without any deficiency, loss, or transgression in the scales.
