Life is a journey, so enjoy the trip
I think most of us know this saying, But did we try to reveal its real meaning?
Let me reveal this meaning by a real story happened to me years ago while I was going home from NY to NJ.There was a guy sitting next to me whom I have met before, so we start talking with each other. After awhile and just to pass time till we get home, I asked him to imagine himself as if he is a yellow cab driver driving in the City (Manhattan).
He said ok and what next. I asked him again to tell me what is he going to do if someone stopped him while driving and got into his car. He said, I am going to ask him where are you going?
I told him he said just drive what are you going to do? He said I will keep driving because he might be living uptown on 9th Ave, same avenue when he stopped me. I told him ok, then you reached the end of 9th Ave, what are you going to ask him? He said, I am going to ask him where are you going? I told him he said keep driving, what are you going to do? He stopped for a second then he thought I might be trying to test him; then he said, maybe this guy wants to take a spin in the city because he is tired of work, and I will keep driving.
I told him you kept driving and spinning for one, two, three, four hours till you got dizzy, then what are you going to do? He said with an angry tune and frustration, I am going to ask him where are you going? I told him he said keep driving, what are you going to do?
Now he got too angry and mad and start shouting and saying I will pull-over the car, get out, open the trunk, take the jack, and kick the s””””t out of him because he is a F””””F , airhead, potato head etc……
I told him relax, why did you get angry, take it easy.
He said with angry voice, what do you mean Tayseer! NO one on earth gets into a yellow cap and does not know where he is going for god sake?
I said ok you are right, but let me ask you one more question. He interrupted me and said, what about this airhead? I told him I will come back to him in a minute.I said, do you know the saying “ life is the journey, so enjoy the trip”? he said yes.
I said, would you explain to me the real meaning of journey?
He said, Tayseer you don’t know the meaning!, come on!, you speak English? I said, well, I don’t know, you tell me.
He said, ok, it’s like going to Hawaii and you take a plane to get there, then spend some time and come back.
I told him ok, means journey has a start and an end. He said yes.
I asked him if life is a journey then when does it starts? He thought for a minute then he said, when you get born.
I asked him again, Ok and when does it end? He said, when you die.
I told him, now I am going to ask you the last question; if life is a gurney and you are ridging it now,
then where you are going?
He was chucked and does not know what to say.
I told him if you do not know, I will pull-over, get out, open the trunk, take the jack
and kick the Sh””””t, because you are that airhead.
He was stunned and doesn’t know what to say or do.
I told him, how many people you see in the city they think they know, but actually they don’t,
and they are simply lost without knowing this fact.
Then I told him go back home relax and set alone and think deeply because you have to find an answer for this question otherwise you are that potato-head guy.
He promised to do, then we split apart.

How many people we know & meet they don’t know where are they going after the end of this journey?
We all should find an answer. We should not look for just an answer, but keen to find the Right Answer.
